The Landmark 81 was selected to host the vertical run in Ho Chi Minh City because it is currently the tallest building in Vietnam and the 14th tallest in the world with a total height of 469.5 m with a 360- degree view of Ho Chi Minh City.
This is a stair-climbing race as well as a vertical run. Participants will start on level ground floor (GF) of Landmark 81 and finish at the Observation Deck on level 81 after climbing 382.7 meters. Participants can also sign up for the shorter distance and climb 48 floors.
The Individual and Team Challenge are open to the public. The age requirement is 16 years on the race day. The Event Organizer reserves the right to verify the age of participants before, on and after the event.
Although challenging, this race is achievable for most people and can be completed at a walking pace. Participants who fail to finish within specified times will be asked by race officials to leave the course. We strongly recommend that beginners or experienced runners who have never done stair climbing train for the race.
For comprehensive training, runners can perform endurance exercises such as running (on flat roads), cycling and rowing. Weight training exercises, specifically focusing on strengthening gluteus maximus and quadriceps muscles such as squats, is also recommended. If possible, runners may train in staircases to familiarize themselves with the race format.
The deadline for registration will be 23:59 Ho Chi Minh City time on 21 April, 2019 or when the quota is full.
Participants should ensure they are medically and physically fit to participate in the race before signing up.
